| The Pennsylvania Association of Numismatists (PAN) is a non-profit educational organization founded in 1978. It is an organization consisting of individuals and coin clubs from throughout the Commonwealth. PAN is a Life Member of the American Numismatic Association. Membership is open to any individual or club interested in the study and collection of coins, currency, medals, tokens, and related material. | The annual PAN Coin Show and Convention is held every October at the Pittsburgh Expo Mart in Monroeville, PA. The annual Spring Coin Show is held at the same location each May. |

Spring Show May 2, 3, 4 2008
Great Bourse, Club Meetings, Education Programs, Coins4Kids, Exhibits The PAN Show is Still on West Side Plans to switch the PAN coin show to the East side of the Monroeville ExpoMart have been changed so we will remain on the West Side where we have held the show for the past 14 years. Over 125 quality dealers from all over the country will offer great selections in US coins, foreign coins, US and foreign paper money, tokens and ancient coins. Expected attendance of over 3300 will buy, sell and trade. There is no sales tax on coins and bullion in Pennsylvania. Raffle tickets for the October 2008 show will be available for sale at PAN tables next to the registration. We will also offer our new encased state quarter (see photos below) celebrating our 30th coin show anniversary with the October 3008 show. PAN also sponsors competitive exhibits at this show. Awards are as follows:
The Coins4Kids The Coins4Kids program will run Saturday, May 3rd from 10 to 6. May exhibit awards will be given at
the Awards Breakfast on Sunday at 7:30AM at the Oxford Dining room at the
Radisson Hotel Pittsburgh (connected via walkway to the ExpoMart). The cost
of the breakfast to exhibtors is free ($5 for others). The fifth in a series of wooden nickels
will be presented at this show. In honor of Ben franklin's birthday
anniversary PAN has dedicated the next few "woods" in his honor. This one
will feature Ben and his contributions to the American Fire Services. For more information on

Pan News Releases March 9, 2008 - 30th Anniversary Encased Quarter Issued
The Pennsylvania Assocation of Numismatists (PAN) has issued an encased quarter celebrating the 30th anniversary of the PAN coin show. This uncirculated 1999 Pennsylvania state quarter is encased in lustrous aluminum noting the 1979-2008 anniversary show date. The encased quarter is now available for $5 delivered. Send check, payable to PAN to Kathy Sarosi, PAN President, 106 Market Street, Johnstown PA 15901. Save $1 by attending the show! The encased quarter sill also be available for $4 at the PAN registration table at the Spring and Fall 2008 shows. October 27, 2007 - Designs Wanted for Pittsburgh's 250th anniversary in 2008 Pittsburgh PA is celebrating it's 250th anniversary in 2008 and PAN would like to produce a medal commorating this event. The medal will be available in gold, silver, and bronze. The same design will also be used for the wooden nickels for the May and October shows and the elongated coin at the October 2008 show. We want to have a design selected by February or the beginning of March 2008 at the latest. Competition will again commence with ther first issue of the Clarion ion 2008. Publication deadlines are Feb. 1, Aug. 1, and Nov. 1. Awards for 2007 will be presented at the 2008 Fall Banquet. Articles should be sent to the editor, Dick Duncan, 611 Fairway Drive, Lancaster PA 17603 October 27, 2007 PAN Kid Zone Update The winner of the foreign coin jar at the new PAN KID ZONE was Miss Emily Hickley of Pittsburgh, PA who had the closest guess (without going over) of actual count of 707 coins. John Wadsworth, YN Volunteer has announced that several young collectors have completed their wheat cent boards. PAN donates free folders and provides wheaties for the youngsters to look through to help fill folders. YNs should bring their complegted boards to the May 2008 show and they will recive a 1938-1961 Jefferson nickel folder. PAN is also still looking for donations of wheat cents for our new collectors. July 6, 2006 - No PA Sales Tax! - Governor Rendell signs PA Senate Bill 300 Effective September 4, 2006 there is no PA state sales tax on investment coins and investment bullion in the state of Pennsylvania. Thanks to the efforts of the entire PAN organization, Kathy Sarosi, PAN President and everyone at John Paul Sarosi INC who worked with the lobbyist, Pennsylvania investors are no longer penalized for purchasing tangible assets from Pennsylvania dealers.
